I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation prior to scheduling. This provides an opportunity for us to talk briefly about your therapy goals and also to help us determine if I am a good fit for your needs. I will do my best to schedule the consultation at a time that is convenient for you.
I am in the office Monday through Thursday. My earliest appointment is at 9:00 and my latest is at 5:00 (1 day per week). I have limited after school openings and these go to existing clients first. Schools and employers are often more flexible than we think they might be. If needed, I can write an absence note. During out initial consultation call, we can talk more about how to approach absences or a request for flexible work scheduling during our initial consultation.
I am generally able to get new clients in for their first appointment within a week or two. These appointments typically are scheduled for Monday (11:30 am) or Tuesday (9:00 am).
In the case of minor (under 18) clients with divorced/separated parents, I require a copy of the current custody order prior to the first session. An electronic copy of this can be uploaded securely when signing consent forms. In cases where there is joint legal custody, I must have the consent of both parents in order to have our first session. In general, I prefer to have the consent of both parents regardless of the custody arrangement.
For all in-person sessions, a parent must attend with a minor client and remain in the waiting room for the entire session unless directly participating. For any older teen client (ages 16 or 17) with a driver’s license, this can be modified, and we can discuss other arrangements.
Please notify me of a cancellation at least 24 hours before our scheduled session. Any no-show or late cancellation will be charged the full session fee. As available, sessions rescheduled for the same calendar week will not result in a fee.
Through the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, all sessions will be conducted online using a secure, confidential platform that is HIPAA-compliant. This is to protect the health of the community – including you, your family, and me.
Once it is deemed safe to return to in-person services without protective precautions, online sessions will be available as occasional exceptions to in-person sessions. In the case of illness or inclement weather leading to hazardous driving conditions, online sessions will be offered.
I am a registered telehealth provider in Florida, which means I am able to provide therapy via telehealth only in Florida. My Florida telehealth registration number is 290. For more information, please go to http://www.flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/.
Bloom Psychological Services is located in the heart of downtown Towson, about a block from the old courthouse. It is located just a few minutes off of 695 (exit York Rd from the inner loop or Dulaney Valley from the outer loop) and I-83 (exit to 695 inner loop toward Towson, then exit York Rd).
One-hour street parking is available right in front of my building. Two- and three-hour parking is available on surrounding streets, with lots nearby. All public parking in downtown Towson is metered at $2 per hour; private parking lots/garages might have different rates or additional fees.
From June through mid-November, the Towson Farmer’s Market is on Thursdays from 10:45-3pm. If your session is during those hours, give yourself a few extra minutes for parking. Or give yourself an extra 30 minutes or so and wander the market before or after our session!
